Cape Town was amazing

Jubilee, Friday 31 July

So we're back in Jo'burg after an amazing trip to Cape Town. It's a beautiful city, especially in the rainy season, and is was fantastic getting to meet and work with some of the Capetonians and make new friends there.

Preparing for Cape Town

We are so excited about our upcoming trip to Cape Town. We will be playing two gigs, one at Jubilee Community Church on 31 July and the other one at Church on Main on 2 August. See details on our site, and here are the facebook events http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=108181621380 and http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=124346487056
We were planning a gig for the Saturday in Stellenbosch but unfortunately it fell through for that date, however we are hoping to make it down for a gig there in the near future...

Pinches of sand

Pinches of sand

Well you might have noticed that we don't really have lot's of gig dates on the site at the moment. All the gigs we were lining up for July somehow fell through, except for Cape Town on 31 July... Yay! There will be another gig at another venue In Cape Town for either 1 or 2 August as well, but we don't have final details yet so we haven't put it up yet. We're really looking forward to this trip and we have been practicing a really cool set list, organising sound and lights and we're setting up for an awesome ::hblt:: concert.

Start time to be confirmed

Exams, gigs, studio, facebook

So Ash and Chris have finished exams. Yay, both because they feel their exams went well (well done) and that also means that we can get back into it.

We played at Godstock on Tuesday and it was fun to be playing together again, and now we'll get stuck into preparing for our Cape Town trip at the end of July which we are getting really excited about, as well as some other gigs earlier in the month. We'll post the dates on the site soon, just waiting to confirm some venues and times.

Tuning up

HPIM0289.JPG

We've had a bit of a break over the last couple weeks. Some of us went away for a holiday in the Free State which was fantastic. But now we're all back and starting to prepare for the second half of the year.

On Thursday we'll be having our first practice as a whole band since Ash started exams. We'll be preparing for Godstock which is under 2 weeks away now. We're really looking forward to it and hope to see you there.

Take my life and let it be

The other day Chris downloaded the Passion podcast from when they were in South Africa (Jo'burg and Cape Town) last year August. We were at the event in Jo'burg, and listening to the podcast again just made the memories so fresh.

It was such an amazing experience, there is nothing like thousands of people in a room decalaring the glory of God. It changes your whole perspective on things. When you leave the building the only thing that matters is the glory of God, the power of the cross and pointing people to Jesus. Everything else in life seems pale in comparison.

Review of Come Home in Die Beeld (Friday 1/5/2009)

A review of our CD appeared in the widely-read local newspaper Die Beeld on Friday, using fancy Afrikaans words we don't understand. Awesome :D

In the meantime

Well here we are in May already, can you believe it. Ash and Chris are heading into exams at the end of the month at Wits. Exams... what a horrible word. So from a gigging point of view things will be pretty quiet this month, but we are planning a busy second half of the year with trips to Durban, PE, Bloemfontein, Cape Town and some awesome things in Jo'burg and Pretoria too, yay! :)
