Review of Come Home in Die Beeld (Friday 1/5/2009)

A review of our CD appeared in the widely-read local newspaper Die Beeld on Friday, using fancy Afrikaans words we don't understand. Awesome :D

Rough translation...

I know that this group brought out their CD independently, however it doesn't sound like that at all. Shaun Jacobs' mellow voice nestles unpretentiously in the funky bass riffs and between the combination of the acoustic and electric guitars. An excellent example of this is "One God". The lyrics "You're enslaving me free/You're the breaking healing me" are always clearly audible. The tapestry of sound is evocative and the electronic sound generally remains heard through the harmonies. Lovesongs like "In Your Eyes" carry you away, while "Believe It" urges the listener to ask introspective questions. You'll find yourself humming to the tunes of the songs very quickly. There is enough variety to keep you busy, but with a clearly discernible cohesive sound. Harbourlight has an identity.

thanks so much for this, dude
