The other day Chris downloaded the Passion podcast from when they were in South Africa (Jo'burg and Cape Town) last year August. We were at the event in Jo'burg, and listening to the podcast again just made the memories so fresh.
It was such an amazing experience, there is nothing like thousands of people in a room decalaring the glory of God. It changes your whole perspective on things. When you leave the building the only thing that matters is the glory of God, the power of the cross and pointing people to Jesus. Everything else in life seems pale in comparison.
Some of us have been working through the book of Acts, and what has really struck me is that is exactly how it was for the disciples; nothing else seemed to matter to them other than proclaiming Jesus, no matter the cost. They were flogged, put in Jail, stoned and still, they were so consumed with a passion for His Name and the urgency of telling people about Him and what He did on the cross that everything else paled in comparison.
So coming back to the Passion event... Fee sang a song with these words "Take my life and let it be all for You and for Your glory. Take my life and let it be Yours." When we're in a place like that where we're experiencing God in such a manifest way, we can sing those words and mean them 100%, full throttle and without a doubt. But we very quickly slip back into a life that is "all about me" and with it we lose the incredible joy we had when it was "all of me, all for You". The strange thing is that when we are holding onto nothing (other than God), we feel most complete.
That's how the disciples were living. It's a huge challenge to live a life of "all of me, all for you" but when we do it we come alive.

Totally! Amen to that! The
Totally! Amen to that!
The Passion Conference was something else and ever since then I've been hooked on their ministry and, more importantly, hooked on getting to know who Jesus really is! I just found it so inspiring to see a bunch of people who heard God's call to spread Jesus' fame and weren't afraid to do it!
(Kinda sounds like you guys!!) =)
